Can things get any worse? After an intimate relationship with her former boss sours, Sienna Sanders is slapped with a lawsuit for breach of contract. Broke and jobless, she moves in with her airhead cousin in a too-small mountain cabin--their joint inheritance. But things get worse when a hiking misstep leaves Sienna stranded. That is, until a hunky stranger comes to her rescue. A zing of attraction has her thinking he might be the one. But there's a psycho stalking the area who's already killed four women--women who look a lot like Sienna. Her stranger insists his name is Carson Addison, but Sienna discovers that isn't true. Plus, her dreamboat protector, a.k.a. possible stalker, only materializes when she's alone. Can she trust her heart and believe he's not a killer? Or is she making herself an easy target for the monster lurking in the mountains?

** SPOILER ALERT!! **

I think this novel would have been more enjoyable had it not been for all the fillers that made the story drag out needlessly. Like most mystery-suspense novels, it's always a case of trying to figure out "who" the killer is. Throwing in so many men - as this author does - to confuse the reader, having them guess who the killer is, or basically surprising them at the end - in this case I would have to say it was overkill.

I couldn't help but think what a complete mess and flake the female protagonist, Sienna, really was. With talk of blond, blue-eyed women being murdered, being introduced to every red-blooded man that crosses her path, seeing the same strange man appear wherever she goes, and meeting a man she likes, Carson, who evades all her questions and asks her to not tell anyone about him, then disappears every couple of days - can anyone blame her for being so paranoid? So here's my issue - Sienna questions every thing about every man she meets. Is he the killer? Should I trust him? Is he lying? The questions never end. Of course with her roommate (and cousin) Bethany being a huge flirt and dating so many men, all we're left with is a lot of filler of trying to figure out which man of the so many is the killer; that after a while it becomes redundant.

If the author was trying to convey how intelligent and strong Sienna is, she only accomplished the opposite. With all her paranoia and every thing that bothers her about Carson, what intelligent woman would sleep with him, let alone fall in love with after just one week? She's attacked one night and she doesn't tell the police? She doesn't take her cousin, Bethany, to the hospital when it's quite obvious she's been drugged. Speaking of Bethany, for a woman who is really scared, moving furniture to block all doors each night, and keeps insisting they stick together, throwing herself at every available man really doesn't help the situation. Seriously, how stupid can you be?

At the end of the day it's an average book that I'm sure will appeal to many. I just wish the author spent more time with character development. More about the killer and his past crimes would have made the story more intriguing and suspenseful as I thought it lacked in the suspense department. Oh, I should mention I figured out who the killer was early on. Don't worry I'll keep that to myself just in case you decide to read it.

My Review
This book was so good. Seriously, I was sitting at the 80% mark of the story and still had at least seven suspects for who could be the bad guy. I never did figure it out definitely until it was revealed in the story. I was constantly back and forth about who it was. So good! And that was just the suspense part of it.

The romance was even better. Sienna knows that she can't trust anyone and when all things point to the fact that she can trust Carson even less, her heart won't give in. Her heart knows he's a good guy even when her mind is telling her that she shouldn't trust him and should, in fact, stay as far away from him as possible. Then there's Carson. You don't know exactly what his story is, but what you do get from him is that he needs to stay away from her too and he just can't do it. Don't you just love romances where the chemistry is so hot, that the characters just can't ignore it? I know that I do and that's part of the reason why I loved this story so much.

It was an intense book. There's a serial killer on the loose and he seems to have Sienna in his sights. In the middle of all that, she's dealing with her ditsy roommate and cousin with her constant parade of men and the fact that they can't move out of their house or else they will forfeit inheriting it. There's the small NC town who doesn't really trust outsiders and is doubly suspicious with what looks like a serial killer on the loose. There's a lot of tension between Sienna and Bethany. There's a lot of tension between Bethany and her men. Then there's a lot of tension between Sienna and Carson. All of it wrapped up to make a story that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to know who was the bad guy? What was the deal with Carson? And none of those questions were answered until the very last. It made for a super-suspenseful and entertaining read. I really, really liked it!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Filled with suspense and romance, Blue Ridge Fear kept me guessing. Whenever I thought I had it figured out there was another clever twist. Look forward to reading other books by Robin Weaver!
Blue Ridge Fear had me at the first page! The story was compelling as I met the characters and found myself trying to solve the mystery along with the heroine. Robin Weaver is a master storyteller of romantic fiction! I will be recommending this book and Robin's other books to all my friends! Perfect book to read on a cold rainy day or a lazy day at the beach!
This book has enough twists and turns to make the Blue Ridge Parkway look like a straight-away. The author keeps you enthralled until the final thrill-filled ending! Great character development and snappy dialogue make Blue Ridge Fear and fun read and almost impossible to put down. Don't start this after supper unless you want to stay up all night!
Author Robin Weaver has once again blown me away, this time with a surprise story that left me page-turning well into the night! I found her by accident as I decided to break away from Michael Connelly and Lee Child for a spell. I found the author's style to be quick paced and to the point, the emphasis on action and intrigue, ergo the late night readings. Recommend a "buy" for Blue Ridge Fear as the characters could easily be someone you know, pulling you deeper into the story with each twist. Allow some time for reading as you will surely find the book hard to put down.
Evade and elude. That should have been the title to this book. It should have also been marketed as a comedy as well as rom/suspense. This was a cleverly written suspense that the author chose to tell without telling us anything. And I mean that in a good way. Your at the end of the book before you know who anyone is. I honestly dont know how the heroine Sienna Sanders stayed sane.

I'm not going to talk about any plot points as I think the reader just needs to experience this book with no background. Yes I am evading. The author taught me well reading this book (grin)
