I love New Orleans stories - there is a long history of fiction being set in the Crescent City, and I always enjoy seeing how people portray the town and the quirky characters that live there. So I was delighted to break the e-spine on a new one.The characters in GG&G were relatable. The action of the whodunit was well paced. The geography was accurate (it is always a deal-breaker for me when NOLA writers get it wrong). There was a fun sideline in description of craft chocolates, and some clever product placement for a local coffee roaster. And finally, a delightful plot twist at the end.
The book was, in a word, fun. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and will be looking forward to the next Marcus Roy mystery. Which maybe, just maybe, will solve the real mystery of where those water bottles came from.

Light hearted and fun. I really enjoyed the book as a quick read. It is not an overly complex story but I had fun getting to know the very relatable characters and their misadventures in amateur detective work. Plenty of fun and quirky twists.
A complete story and still I want more. I like the characters and want to know more about them. Please don't take too much time for book two.
