Suzanne Bratcher’s book The Copper Box © 2017 kept me engaged throughout. Her rendition and weaving of story, location, and characters kept me reading with every chapter. Like her heroin, Marty, I don’t believe in ghosts, however, someone in Jerome, Arizona used their Ghost Town stories in an effort to dissuade Marty from discovering the truth she sought. Why had Marty forgotten her childhood? Had she killed her little sister? Who tripped Grandma causing her death? Will Brad and Scott settle their quarrel after the death of Linda? Who is causing these strange occurrences? Where is the copper box and what does it contain? Pick this book up on Amazon to find the answers.

To be honest, the book's amazing cover is what piqued my interest in reading this book. But once I started reading, the story is what kept me turning pages. The pacing was good, and I enjoyed the characters. It kept you guessing right up to the end. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Over the years, we have been avid readers of mysteries....within varied historical, geographical, religious and cultural settings We enjoyed the author's character development, the very descriptive phraseology, (the author has a gift for "painting pictures" with words) and we found the general flow of the story line captivating.
We are excited with our discovery of a new author and anticipate the publication of her next novel!
What an excellent debut novel. Bratcher pulls you in immediately and doesn't let go. Loved the core values of the characters and how the author weaved the mystery and romance together. Ready for book two!
I started getting tired halfway through this novel, but I knew I couldn't go to sleep until I reached the end, or Marty's nightmare would become mine! The novel definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. Really enjoyed it!
Fast paced enjoyable read. Loved the characters and the descriptions of the countryside. I want to go to Jerome now and see if it's as charming as Ms. Bratcher has made it sound.
Suzanne Bratcher sets the scene so well I believe if I drove into her western mining town I would recognize it. The characters feel like people I know and their situations are relateable. I especially loved her colorful descriptions. A great read and I had trouble putting it down.
Captivating and very different from most mysteries & "romances" I have read. Wth well developed and realistic characters, Bratcher draws you into the story and the characters' lives. The mystery will keep you guessing till the last chapters, and the satisfying end will have you joining me in the hope for a sequel.
